Nakht was a scribe and “Astronomer of Amon”. As with the tomb of his contemporary, Menna (Mon. 40), the tomb of Nakht is in an excellent state of conservation. Aside from the magnificent wall paintings depicting the daily life of an elite, the polychrome hieroglyphs are just as remarkable, with their bright, canonical colours and their fine detail. Only yellow has sometimes faded to a pale offwhite.
